This image captures the start of the Tilley Family in Durham County, Ontario. Two brothers, Mr. John Tilley and W. E. Tilley settled in the Village of Tyrone to pursue their chosen profession as teachers. W. E. Tilley ultimatley became Superintendant of Schools in Durham & adjacent Northumberland County.
A neighbour was John Mclaughlin who lived on a nearby property on Middle Road. His son was Robert McLaughlin, 'Carriage Maker' (which became GM Canada!)
