Dr. A. S. Tilley and Mrs. Tilley - Passed to Eternal Rest in Same Hour
"They were lovely and pleasant in their lives, and in their death they were not divided" may be truly said of Dr. Albert Sidney Tilley and Mrs. Tilley, 119 Prince Arthur Ave., Toronto, who answered the call to the higher and better life early on Saturday morning on July 7, 1928, within half-an-hour of each other.
Dr. Tilley was born at Tyrone 63 years ago and lived to celebrate his birthday on Friday last. He was a twin brother of Mr. Herbert R. Tilley who passed away on February 6th. He was educated in the schools at Bowmanville, Port Hope and Lindsay graduating as a silver medalist from Trinity Medical College, Toronto.
For the past thirty-five years Dr. Tilley has been practicing in Bowmanville, Ontario.
While it was known Mrs. Tilley was not well yet few realized her very serious condition until the word came on Saturday that so great was the shock of her husband's sudden passing that she suffered a stroke and passed away a short time afterwards.
The remains were brought here from Toronto, the double funeral taking place on Monday afternoon with the Service held in Trinity United Church.
They leave to mourn their sudden passing two sons, E. Philp Tilley and A. Ross Tilley, Toronto.
Bowmanville Statesman, July 12, 1928.
